Aamir Khan’s new venture, Dhobi Ghat, which is a much awaited movie this year. The movie is expected to be released in second half of this year 2010.

Story:

According to latest news the story of the movie is said to be based on a real life story. The movie is being crafted under the Documentary Drama genre. The movie in all is said to portray an altogether new concept much different from the ongoing movie tales and characters. With AK playing the part of a painter who owns a small studio in Mumbai, Prateik is touted to play the part of a dhobi. The movie is centered on the Dhobi Ghaat in Mumbai which is where the traditional dhobis live and earn bread from primarily.

Production:

Priyanka Chopra was earlier rumored to play the part of Anya, but that rumor was later dropped after Katrina Kaif was chosen to play the female lead.

The script is penned by director Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder. Sanjay Dutt was confirmed to play the role of Sutradhaar (narrator) for the film. Farah stated in an interview that she wanted someone with a voice which people can even recognize in their sleep.

Band Baaja Baaraat (English: Wedding Music Band), also known by the abbreviated form BBB is a 2010 Indian feature film that marks the directing debut of Maneesh Sharma and stars Anushka Sharma and newcomer Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. Produced and distributed by Yash Raj Films, the film is a romantic comedy set around the world of wedding planning. It was released worldwide on December 10, 2010.

Premise

Shruti (Anushka Sharma) and Bittoo (Ranveer Singh) are two 20-something years olds who have just graduated from Delhi University’s Hans Raj College. Apart from this the two are otherwise very different one from the other. Indeed, Shruti, coming from a middle-class household, is very driven, ambitious and focused, while Bittoo is a bit of a slacker and mostly interested in having fun with his friends. A chance meeting leads them to reluctantly start a tumultuous business venture as Wedding Planners together, however with one strict rule: not to mix business with pleasure. Through their business they experience the ups and downs of the lavish world of the glamour and glitz of Delhi weddings, something which will test their friendship over time and eventually make them discover one another.

Golmaal 3 is a Hindi comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty. A sequel to the 2008 film Golmaal Returns, the project will star majority of the actors from the previous film like Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade, and also featured new actors as well. Rizvan Khan - Shahrukh Khan

Rizvan Khan, a Muslim man from India, moves to San Francisco and lives with his brother and sister-in-law. Rizvan, who has Aspergers, falls in love with Mandira. Despite protests from his family they get married and start a small business together. They are happy until September 11, 2001 when attitudes towards Muslims undergo a sea-change. When tragedy strikes, Mandira is devastated and they split. Rizvan is confused and very upset that the love of his life has left him. To win her back, he embarks on a touching and inspiring journey across America.

Every single scene of the movie has great links to convey, so you can’t afford to miss even a single act.

Movie has many appealing & simple scene, but they are very convincing & attractive. Though the romance between Rizvan & Mandira is subtle, yet it’s appealing. The life of SRK in the movie is the best part of the film.

There’s a minor holdup in the IInd half, when Rizvan proceeds to Georgia to put aside a hurricane-ravaged hamlet. Moreover, media also implement tends to make the movie lengthy.

Work of Shibani Bathija should given the credit.

Kudos to Karan Johar for making this brave attempt but how one wishes he had reined himself in during the second half. The flood sequence and the sub-plot involving Mama Jenny and funny hair Joel in Wilhelmina, Georgia, were totally dispensable.

Rizvan Khan & Mandira

But my salutations to the man who breathes life and soul into the movie – the King Khan. And I say it as much from my epiglottis as from the heart.

Meera

After her marriage scandal with Atiq ur Rehman, she is again in news! I guess she loves to be in news.

Recently Meera was held by immigration at Karachi airport for at least two hours, know why? For keeping two passports.

According to Meera, she lost her first issued passport but got it back by her employee… AND she forget to tell concerned authorities!!

According to the law, she might face three years imprisonment with penalty.

The staff of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration cell seized both the passports at the Karachi airport.

The immigration personnel intercepted her at the airport on arrival to Karachi from US via Dubai in a flight EK-606 and released her after questioning. They have confiscated both her passports and sent them to the issuing authority in Islamabad for proper investigation and verification where it would be decided as to what should be done with her for committing fraud with the passport cell.

According to the law, her punishment depends on the investigation or the case that would be registered against her.

She was issued the first passport in 2006 and upon a complaint about missing of the passport she was issued another passport in 2008. As per rules, no one can use more than one passport but despite this, she had two passports.

FIA Immigration Assistant Director Dr Mushtaq Sheikh told Daily Times that Meera went to the US on her second passport and returned on the previous one. “The passport record showed that she was using two passports and we on the directives of Immigration Cell DG, according to the 6/1/C of the Passport Act, seized both of her passports and later released her after questioning for two hours,” Sheikh informed. “We were only ordered to seize her passports and it depends on the investigation, which will determine her punishment.”

According to news agency, Meera will soon be facing tax problem too… Her house is already sealed!

Everyone has done a nice job, as for Boman Irani , he lives the part he plays , be it Being Cyrus or the lecher in Khosla ka Ghosla, he is the matured old wine that keeps getting better with age. Wonder why he is never nominted for any awards for his outstanding and memorable performances?

Aamir Khan has done excellent job like past, being 44 he has awesomely performed as 22 years old guy just like we expected from him!

3 Idiots is a movie you can watch with family easily no age-restriction!

“Perfect Mismatch” and “Luck” were released on same Friday, both with different genres trying their luck on box office, lets see who’s charm work.

“Luck” just doesn’t focus on hero and his heroism but also move around several characters. Soham Shah the director, right he has directed “Kaal” too, he has cast an upcoming star Shruti, the daughter of Kamal Hasan opposite to Imran Khan in this movie.

With Shruti and Imran Khan, there is Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakravorty and Danny. Though script was final long ago but because of finance it couldn’t come on screen. Director and cameraman Santosh Dhandiyal did the shooting in South Africa and Bangkok.

Movie get completed in 70 days, Soham Shah claims that actors have played their roles very well, infact Shruti has played her role very boldly and after learning the art in Bangkok she did risky stunts very well.

“Luck” begins with Mafia king Kareem Musa played by Sanjay Dutt challenging an eclectic group to perform stunts for his betting trade. His game involves humans as betting objects who are made to fight their own luck to survive! Every year his trusted aide Tamang played by Danny collects 20 participants for him.

Ram Mehra played by Imran Khan is a white collar youth who is determined to make good Rs 200 million that his father lost in the stock market. Ayesha played by Shruti Hasan has her own agenda.

Mithun Chakravarthy playing Retired Major Jawar Pratap Singh needs money for his sick wife. Here, the script takes a turn. As the luck or rather the bad luck would have it. Shortcut played by Chitrashi Rawat is a Pakistani camel racer girl who dreams of buying a Lexus with the prize money while Raghav played by Ravi Kissen is a serial murderer.

The participants are put into extremely dangerous life risking games of luck. The one who manages to win the big jackpot forms the rest of movie. Incidentally, junior artists get knocked-off first and later Imran Khan, the hero, too. As told above, only the lucky one survives. Here, the lucky survivor is none other than villain Ravi playing Raghav.

The movie begins on an exciting sequence when a blindfolded Sanjay Dutt crosses the multiple railway lines with trains running at a high speed. The credit for playing the action scene goes to Dutt and for technical excellence to director Shah. This shows that the movie is a good mix of both a thriller as well as an entertainer.

Then, the director introduces the vital element of a Bollywood movie — romance. Yes, between the hero Imran and the beautiful newcomer Shruti Hassan. While critically analyzing the movie, we come across several flaws. First, Sanjay Dutt is seen gun trotting, not once but frequently and that too in a royal desi dress sherwani (long coat usually worn at the wedding or by princes in their official assignments).

No matter, the director rightly names him Musa who is always surrounded by black-suited bodyguards! Two, the script isn’t as tight as required. The director seems to have written in a great hurry, leaving a lot of scope o tie the loose ends. Third, the first half is assigned only to the introduction of the characters and that too in vain but in vain. They are established only in the latter-half. Lastly, the emotional connect with the viewer is missing. This is another matter that Allan Amin has brilliantly choreographed both the initial as well as the concluding sequences. However, he too fails in making the initial scenes enacting stunts look real.

Luck

On the whole, Soham Shah looks like trusting his luck in this movie rather than devoting himself to his job, if he had devoted, movie would have hit box office on its own. Stills it’s a paisa vasool movie.

Love Aaj Kal

On Friday 31^st July we saw just one bollywood movie releasing and that was Love Aaj Kal, which is directed by the same director who did movie ‘Jab We Met’ but LAK is better than JWM.

Though different in many aspects, it lands in the same category of love and romance. While ‘Jab We Met’ starred Shahid Kapur with Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, ‘Love Aaj Kal’ has Saif Ali Khan opposite Deepika Padukone. The on screen couple had huge age difference.

Being one of the producers Saif wanted Kareena Kapoor to be cast opposite him, but director choice was Deepika. Kareena made Saif agreed on Imtiaz Ali because of her own experience with him in ‘Jab We Met’.

‘Love Aaj Kal’ is based on love but on serious love as never before, it depicts the reality faced by today’s lovers. Movie is likely to be successful among middle class youngsters and in multiplexes.

It reflects today’s love that is in no hurry to get married, parents and families fail to understand this love and keep trying to tie them up in life time relationship.

Jai played by Saif Ali Khan and Meera played by Deepika Padukone take the love to new dimensions, maybe that can be the reason behind film name ‘Love Aaj Kal’.

According to the story Jai and Meera shows the love of today (Aaj) while the other hand on screen couple Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor) and Harleen shows us the love of yesterday (Kal), according to Jai and Meera long distance relationships don’t work and on the side Veer Singh traveled from Delhi to Kolkata by train to stand under Harleen’s balcony just to get a glimpse of her face.

Neither Jai could understand how Veeru can be so stupid about Harleen in his youth nor can Veeru understand how Jai can treat matters of heart without passion.

Because of Saif being Sikh, wearing turban and beard (trimmed though) in movie, it faced controversies way before releasing, but Saif did apology for visiting gurdwara for making love and also for trimming the bread. These are against the tenets of Sikhism.

Both Jai and Meera while pursuing their career they can’t see romance coming in their way, but both of them ironically walk into each other at odd timings.

Saif Ali Khan & Deepika Padukone

Shooting locations in Delhi, Punjab and the US and UK is fascinating, another plus point of the movie is Pritam’s foot tapping music, it’s foot tapping Aahun Aahun, sweet Chor Bazaari or melancholic Dooriyan are already a hit.

The movie isn’t without flaws; the biggest flow is the lack of clarity of the story in the first part though the director rectifies it in the second half. We wish director had devoted more attention to the first half too.

Over all ‘Love Aaj Kal’ is the movie which would make you fall in love all over again!
