Many of you must have seen the video of the demonstration of Samsung’s latest most advanced technology “The Smart Window”. The video has been quite popular on social networks but if you have still not seen it just read this article and you’ll know. Here is all you should know about it (if you are not willing to buy it).

It’s just a concept till now but it has been heard that it will go into mass production soon. I still wonder who will buy it?

Concept:
The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was the “iBoard”. This is a funny pic which I shared incidentally on my website’s facebook page:

Now you know what I meant by “iBoard”. Samsung, I think, caught that idea and instead of marketing it like a board they made a window out of it.

What it’s marketed like:

Samsung introduced the smart window on the international CES. It’s a transparent one sided window. And as the name suggests it is “smart”. That means you can have apps, widgets, internet and everything which a Smartphone can offer. It also has customized options for “windows”. Like, you can make blinds open or close. You can also view live television on it.

What it really is:
It is actually just a huge touch screen with a camera facing the other side. It gives a “transparent” window effect. I think the most impressive thing here is that they managed to make such a big high resolution touch screen.

Price:
The price has not been disclosed yet but I am certain it’s going to be no less than 2000$!

Target Market:
I have no idea who they are going to sell this bad boy too!!

Conclusion:
The conclusion is that this thing is pretty cool and can make you go like “wow” for the first time but still if you think about it you would find its pointless. I mean you have a TV already, and also a computer and a window too. Why will you spend 2000$ on a combination of all these? The Smartphone became popular because of the portability but this thing neither has that factor. And it doesn’t even perform the “window” job well! I mean it doesn’t allow fresh air to pass through it!

Now I know that you would love to be in the minority report but buying a “transparent touch screen TV” is not something I would recommend. What do you think about this technology? Would you buy it? See you in the comments

This is the best-preserved alcazaba (from the Arabic al-qasbah, قصبة, meaning “citadel”) in Spain. The location for the mosque was the site of the tent of the commander of the conquering army, general Amr ibn al-As. One corner of the mosque contains the tomb of his son, Abdullah. The construction of the present mosque structure began in 1986. A mobile ad company, InMobi posted a new survey report which concluded that 41 percent of total US consumers have plans to buy the iPhone 5 after its release. The survey adds 50 percent of the above mentioned people are expected to buy the iPhone 5 in first six months of the release. As you might know that Apple will be making available the iPhone 5 for Sprint’s 52 million subscribers, this will obviously be a new market for Apple and the iPhone.

Since, a lot of customers across the globe will be buying Apple’s products, it is also believed that most of them will be playing with their smartphone to get it unlocked or jailbroken. Jailbreaking is a technology, where programmers, develop softwares and do reverse engineering to break the code of mobile operating system and then let people install whatever softwares which otherwise are not allowed to be run on the device. However, this practice may compromise the warranty of Jailbroken iPhone 5, but users for sake of experience will still be trying iPhone5Jailbreaks.org without thinking twice, that this may cause some issues with their expensive device.

Many other surveys also show similar results which means that this time iPhone will have very high demand than never before. Well, Apple is keeping it quiet until the announcement which is scheduled on 4^th October media event. Nineteen girls in a smart car!

Nineteen young girls in Karachi managed to fit into a two-door smart car in hopes of having their names put in the Guinness Book of World Records.

During a gathering at the Creek Cub in Karachi the 19 female students squeezed into the car to break a previous record of 18 girls fitting into such a vehicle, which was achieved by participants in Australia.

It was witnessed by prominent personalities including speaker of Sindh Assembly Nisar Khoro and former cricketers Wasim Akram and Saleem Yousuf.

Chile prison on fire

The BBC’s Gideon Long says it is believed prisoners set fire to mattresses

A fire in a prison in the Chilean capital Santiago has left at least 81 inmates dead, officials say.

The blaze broke out in the San Miguel prison at 0530 local time (0830 GMT), with television pictures showing smoke billowing from the building.

Hundreds of inmates were evacuated, with up to 14 prisoners said to have life-threatening injuries.

President Sebastian Pinera described the prison system as “inhumane” and said reforms should be speeded up.

He said the fire was a “hugely painful tragedy”.

“We cannot guarantee the number of dead will not rise,” he said.

The president at one point said 83 had died, but officials later revised this figure down.

Reports said the fire broke out after a fight between rival gangs, who set mattresses on fire.

Health Minister Jaime Manalich said this was the deadliest incident in the history of the Chilean prison service.
