Sultan Hotel

Sultan Hotel

The Sultan Hotel is a luxurious hotel, which has an Arabic design and one room starts with 155 Singaporean dollars only. It means in American dollars, it is 130 dollars.

Let’s get down to business

It has occupied the historic ten shop houses, which have two stories. It has been made into a hotel with 64 rooms. The Sultan Hotel opened in last October and looks very charming to say the least. It is offbeat and quite a substitute for Singapore’s modern hotels. It has open air corridors and feels a bit rusty. The backdrops crackle, when rainstorm strikes. The ornate carvings and colonial shutters are above the windows and doors.

The venue of Sultan Hotel

The Sultan Hotel is in the heart of Kampong Glam. It is home to Arabs and Malays since the 18th century. It’s quite a colorful neighborhood. The Arab merchants have sold silks for a long time. There are fashionable boutiques along the street and combines old times with modern times. The Sultan Hotel is not far from center of Singapore.

The room of requirement

The platform room is a mixture of illusion and design and the space has been used wisely. The ceilings are high and there are drawers beneath beds in case, closets fill up. The decoration is in earth tones. The outside view is not as impressive as the hotel itself.

The shower is closed in the glass cabin and there is no dearth of space inside. Move around the toilet and sink with relative ease. There are:

1: Shampoos

2: Body lotion

3: Conditioner

4: Combs

5: Toothpastes

6: Toothbrushes

Facilities available

There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby as well as in the guest rooms. The sultan hotel has no business center. The front desk has photocopy machine and fax machine. La Scala is the only restaurant on the property. It deals in breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, rooftop dining is available for the hungry traveler. The seating is in draped cabanas. The Sultan Hotel has its own Sultan Jazz Club Lounge.

The breakfast club

The breakfast has already been included in the room price. The hot favorite is eggs with French toast and apple compote. The guests at breakfast are less and the service is slow. There is a lonely waitress busy in serving everyone. You may have to call her twice. Sometime, the food ordered may be something and what is served is different.

But, now the breakfast is purely served in a buffet styled format.

Last but not the least

The Sultan Hotel in Singapore is purely for the travelers, who are sickened and bored of the fast city life. It is ideal for the tourist hoping to cut back contact with civilization. Sometimes civilization can get on nerves in Singapore. That is why Sultan Hotel in Singapore is designed to give the century old backdrop and give the tourist a moment of reflection. It’s a terrific place to hang out with a girlfriend or group of friends.
