The iPhone 4 had a poor position for the antenna. The similar problem rose with the release of Apple maps, as the Google maps were scrapped off. The mapping service is being disliked like hell.

The latest iPhone 5 was being ranked as the best smartphone, but clearly, the mapping service fell short of expectations.

The chief executive Tim Cook made a public apology for the poor Apple maps and advised to use the Google maps instead, while they work on their own.

The Apple maps have taken a lot of heat, it is still not competent enough and there are free applications giving exactly, what Apple gives for a price. Apple promised to fix up the issues in Apple maps and manage to remove glitches. It will be all behind Apple soon. Apples shared went down at 1.3 percent.

The Apple sold iPhone 5 like hot cakes with 5 million pieces and the tech stores faced the problem of demand and supply.

The Apple maps were the highlight of iOS 6 operating system. The maps were sewn together with the help of Tom Tom NV and Waze. The public anticipation was high.

The errors and grunts were apparent from the start, when the application was released. The cities were mislabeled and buildings were misplaced. The geographical features were messed up. It wasn’t as competent as the Google maps. There were no transit directions and street view photos.

Apple took a lot of heat, when the antenna of the iPhone 4 came under heavy artillery fire. The signal reception problems rose in the iPhone 4.

Steve Jobs completely rejected the popular opinion, that iPhone 4 design was flawed and failed to entertain it. But, the Apple fraternity did receive free phone cases instead. The flaw was rectified with the release of iPhone 4S.

Now, the Apple maps have been stabilized to a certain degree and it has voice as well as on screen directions too. So, the Apple maps can absorb some of the heat.

But, it might take another heat wave as it does lacks the details, customization options, traffic data, which Google generously provides in its Google navigation application. The Google has the upper hand in this case.

By the way, Apple did admit for the first time in their long legacy, that they did something wrong. Apple took the separation a bit arrogantly and the result was taking heat for its notorious maps. Tim Cook advised using Bing maps, MapQuest and Google maps.

The result was a product, which fell short of public anticipations and in rage of monopolizing the map application, Apple became greedy.

Apple was in such a hurry to release product after product. The iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S came back to back.

By the way, iPhone 5 is lighter, more lucid and clear and the screen is larger. Apple has changed the technology world with its world class products. Soon, Apple maps will be a product of beauty and perfection.
