Switzerland has a high amount of non-Swiss population. The Switzerland is instrumental in attracting the people from struggling countries and cash rich countries alike. The rich people move into Switzerland due to tax haven banks. Their money is protected from huge tax deductions and they live the high life.

Switzerland is a neutral country and has not fought a single war since 1815. So, many artists and scholars have moved into Switzerland for evading the political disturbances in the initial twentieth century. Lenin was one of them. Now, it is the Switzerland’s economic power and influence with easy access, which tempts the exiles to move here.

Many foreigners already know what they are about to expect when they move in Switzerland.

Switzerland has a small land size which is roughly, 41,285 km^2. The population is also low as 7,600,000. In terms of geography and people, it is a different country. So, people have varied experiences in different parts of Switzerland.

Switzerland is right in the heart of Europe. It shares borders with the likes of Germany, Austria, Italy, who were the axis power in the First World War and finally France.

All of the foreigners feel that due to so much border alignment, Switzerland has inherited a lot from these countries. The German, French and Italian culture is still vibrant and very much alive over there.  The government and politics is also influenced as well.

There are three languages spoken in Switzerland, namely the German, Italian and French. Also, there is a fourth language called Romansh. Only one percent of the population speaks it.

Switzerland is divided into three segments geographically namely:

1: Alps

2: Central plateau

3: Jura

All of those people who are arriving in Switzerland should know that these three areas have separate weather conditions too.

The climate of Switzerland is moderate and there is a clear Mediterranean touch to it. Also, the precipitation is more seen in the southern region of Switzerland. The mountains block the rain clouds from entering the south and are diverted to northern areas.

The snowfall and frost are commonly observed in all parts of Switzerland, the people who are moving to Alpine region must be prepared for low temperatures.

So, this was a long and interesting journey through Switzerland, a country which is called paradise by the outsiders. The normal grocery items are at least five times double the world price. The standard of living is surprising to a new tourist.
