The Philips 6900 Smart TV was shown at the TP Vision press conference and they certainly looked imposing and impressive.
Philips has long been a big player in the electronic industry. Now, Philips has unveiled it’s new and revolutionary 3D PFL 6900 Smart TV. The TV was launched at the IFA 2012 mega event and it featured a frameless design.
The new design is most impressive and the term frameless does not mean any bezel at all. The Philips 6900 Smart TV is a piece of artistic beauty.
Technical specifications
1: The first impression is complete awe and the specifications indicate that that the bezel is 1.2mm thick and it is certainly unobtrusive. It is made from anodized aluminum.
2: The remote control is a QWERTY keyboard and it has a pointing capability. It’s a bit chunky and works nicely for the navigating between menus.
3: The most notable feature is the picture quality, which is more than impressive and exceeds expectations.
4: The perfect motion rate has the range between 1200 Hz and 600 Hz from Philips and the images are very crisp and the edges are well defined too.
TP Vision vehemently claims that it has maintained the reputation of Philips for a nice picture quality and everyone believed them all right.
But, one would like to test the Philips 6900 Smart TV thoroughly to determine its real worth.
5: The conversion from 2D to 3D still remains to be tested, so it is still not confirm, how the key features add up.
The Philips 6900 Smart TV is great and terrific but, the remote with the QWERTY is a bit off the chart and has less application. It can be used in particular settings.
6: The speakers are at the back and the sound is drowned by fan or air conditioner, but a Samsung HW E550 may fix that.
7: Apart from this, the Philips 6900 Smart TV is great for streaming movies and accessing media from the computer or laptop. Wireless internet is also available too. The 3D picture is most magical and every function works pretty well.
