The Macbook Air from Apple: A divine product

An outline of Macbook

The Macbook Air from Apple is available in 11 inches screen length. It is equipped with a powerful and respect demanding 1.7 GHz dual core Intel Core i5-3317U processor. It can be upgraded to 2.6 GHz processor with the help of Intel turbo boost function.

That is jaw dropping and mouth watering alone.

That being said, the 13 inch screen version of Macbook Air is available in 1.8 GHz Core i5 processor and one can upgrade it to 2 GHz processor core i7 for just 1,350 pounds extra.

No discrete graphics option is provided apart from the fact that it has an Ivy Bridge setup and one is exposed to Intel HD graphics 4000.

The graphics processing is double than that of previous Macbook Air laptops.

Technical features

The built in RAM is 4GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L, is a valiant upgrade from the last Macbook Air. Now, the performance is much faster and fluid. Even, the 2011 Macbook Air was impressive and reliable enough.

But saving the high definition data could be a problem as the person would like to have his own high definition library, everywhere he goes. That being said, you should have a 64 GB flash drive with yourself. A 128 GB flash drive would suffice too. For an additional 640 pounds to 800 pounds, you can have 512 GB of storage data.

Money is an expendable quantity in this case.

The big ultrabooks from Sony Vaio T13 as well as HP Envy 6 have a dual SSD option as well as HDD option. They offer more space for data and kept the market price down.

Apple has neglected this option, citing that the key thinning feature in this laptop is only due to absence of a hard drive. Also, there is no CD ROM available. So, rely on the internet for downloading movie and songs and software.

Apple has made tall claims about its flash storage citing it to be 4X (four times) much faster and reliable. The conventional 5400 rpm hard drive is termed as obsolete and discarded technology.

Final word

So, there is no shadow of doubt behind their claim to say the least. Its performance reaches the speed of light.

But the architecture of the 2012 Macbook Air is not the same as that of 2011.

The Magsafe power connection has been revamped and Magsafe 2 is thinner and longer.

For ten dollars, there is an adapter which Apple sells, if you use the old power source.

There is no indicator for the USB 3.0 port duo. But they are there for usage. They are white and silver. A thunderbolt port is also given along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There is a SD card reader slot in the Macbook Air 2012. It is not available in the 11 inch model, sadly.

The quality of the webcam has also enhanced a lot and now the webcam is 720 p HD. Now, have fun with crystal clear live videos.

Apple has provided five hours of battery firepower for the 11 inch laptop and the 13 inch model has a battery life of seven hours. But, it was tested for full HD video streaming on maximum brightness; it ran out of steam after four hours. So, Apple predicted this battery life feature correctly.
