The Acer Iconia W510 Tablet

Acer had held a press conference in Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei. Its tablet was eagerly anticipated with the integration of Windows 8.  It will be releasing Acer Iconia W510 and Acer Iconia 700.

The Acer Iconia W510 tablet is operating on Windows 8 operating system. Although, the Acer W700 wasn’t bad either, the W510 is more likely to sell and reap rewards for the Acer Corporation. It will be available in 3G and Wi-Fi capacity.

The Acer W510 is a tablet, which resembles a bit with Asus transformer tablet with 10.1 inch screen. It has a detachable keyboard dock.

The Acer Iconia W510 will not stir the market much as there are Asus Vivo Tab as well as Lenovo Think pad tablets available in the market already. But the Acer Iconia W510 does have a clover trail generation Intel Atom processor.

The Atom processor has had a bad run lately and this might be a good time to turn the tides in its favor.

Technical features

The design of the Acer Iconia W510 is lovely though. Its weight is 600 grams and it’s a little lighter than iPad 3. It is only 8.8 mm thick. It is equipped with Dolby Digital Home Theatre surround sound. Stereo speakers are also supported.

Some ports are worth a mention here like:

1: Micro SD port of 32 GB

2: Micro HDMI port

3: Micro USB port

The screen of Acer Iconia W510 is crisp and cool but not the best in business.

There is a TPM chip in it as well, so companies can manage it in their network. This chip is available in many Intel based systems containing Windows 8.

The keyboard dock takes the battery life to at least 16 hours. It can be rotated 275 degrees backwards. You can use it for presentations and video projectors too. It is difficult to press the Windows Start button on the bottom of the tablet, due to the proximity of the bezel.

Lets take a point to point basis in the below section.

  • The Acer Iconia W510 tablet features a 10.1 inch screen.
  • It has an IPS display and a keyboard which is detachable.
  • The keyboard works as a battery itself.
  • You can give a small presentation or a video screening with it.
  • It has a SIM card slot.
  • It has a volume rocker.
  • It has a power button, a headphone jack and lock toggle.
  • The tablet is lightweight and so is the keyboard.
  • The pricing is not yet disclosed.

The final frontier

Hopefully, the Atom processor will make it self a household name. The Acer Iconia 510 will surely stir up the stagnant completion up a bit. It is one of the impressive and cool Windows 8 tablets on market yet.

It is cool and sexy in looks and performance. There is no reason for not to buy it though. The cheap tablets are the one which are becoming a nuisance for the expensive tablets.
