The flipboard: A Revolutionary idea

On Android the most widely used application is NewsRob which is an RSS reader with
numerous options available. It is equipped with Google Sync. Applications like NewsRob are
for tech junkies who subscribe to a lot of live articles for every day. If you are an avid reader
of NewsRob, then you must be frequently removing the old ones and adding interesting ones.
NewsRob is perfect but wasn’t attractive and appealing to look at.

That is why Flipboard came into existence. It provides a sort of magazine like experience based
on the RSS articles you have subscribed to. The Flipboard was primarily created for iOS and
was a major hit with the Apple fans. When Samsung Galaxy SIII was released, Flipboard was
incorporated in by default. It is installed in Samsung Galaxy SIII. Now the Flipboard application
can be tried by everybody.

After the setup, you can choose between numerous Flipboard categories and add them up. Also,
the users can integrate Twitter, Facebook LinkedIn and instagram.

The purpose of Flipboard is to pull out latest articles from the selected sources and present them
with big juicy pictures. Entering Flipboard, you will obtain most popular articles aligned neatly.

Flipboard has a start screen on which you can touch articles and cover story tiles and swipe them
at your own will. Swipe them to access rest of the latest articles. Once you swipe to the second
article, then you will understand why it’s called Flipboard as it creates a fun paging animation.
Articles are available without the distracting and cluttered ads like in conventional websites.
There is one minor drawback that it can not download and convert articles from RSS feeds.
While opening a teaser feed, switch the browser mode to see the website’s full article. This
technique is all right but the entire article must be in active Flipboard view which is optimized
for only reading.

There are two widgets available in medium and small sizes. They can be changed with the help
of Android 4.0 widget adjustment feature. They show one article at a time and you have to go
through each entry by touching refresh button available at lower corner. This is a pretty useless
feature anyway.

Also, Flipboard has the capability to forward the articles to services such as insta-paper,
readability and read it later if you need to read an article later.

This is the verily the best magazine reader yet invented in the market and it’s terrific to see
Flipboard arriving on Android platform pretty quickly. Some people may use NewsRob as the
RSS reader, Flipboard is a perfect amalgamation of other sources. Go for Flipboard, if you want
interesting articles along with magazine reading experience.

Flipboard for iPhone is a perfect match and is the perfect reason for getting an Iphone. Flip the
pages with your thumb unlike the iPad where you have to flip them sideways. This application is
lush. It’s a great application while sitting in Starbucks or at home catching up to latest news and
articles. The version on the iPhone is faster so don’t wait up on loading.
