KARACHI, Sept 6 (APP)- As elsewhere the Defence Day of Pakistan will be marked here on Sunday.An ISPR press release on Saturday said that the Pakistan Army will celebrate the Defence of Pakistan Day with a resolve to safeguard the frontiers of the motherland and to live up to the expectations of the nation in testing times.

The day will dawn with the Quran Khawani for Shuhadas in the unit mosques after Fajr prayers and for the solidarity of the country.

Floral wreath will be laid at the Mazar-e-Quaid on behalf of the three services.

Flag hoisting ceremonies will be held at unit and formation level and important governemnt buildings will also be tastefully illuminated.

Special derbars will be held in Army units and Bara Khanas will also be arranged for the troops.

The cadets of the PAF Academy Risalpur assume the guard duty at the Mazar-e-Quaid.

A grand display of fighter aircraft, weapons and equipment used by Pakistan Air Force will also be held in the city.

A floral wreath will also be laid at the grave of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider.

Television channels will air programmes to mark the Defence Day and special supplements will be published by the newspapers. (- via AAP -) (- image courtesy muhammadusman -)
